About Us

Our Philosophy                   Team                         History

"Hope" is a good thing, may be the best of things and no good thing ever dies. We must count our blessings, for there are many who haven’t been blessed that well.

Divya Bijur is a bright young woman in Bombay. Independent and cheerful, she gets along well with everyone. And she is visually challenged. ~Pankhudi Pune decided to assist her by training her in a package called Auxel. This project is the brain-child of Omkar Nisal, a member of ~Pankhudi Pune and was developed to enable visually challenged students “perceive” colors through sounds. And the success is visible through the fact that Divya is now an instructor of the Auxel project herself!

With the firm belief that children are same everywhere and deserve equal opportunities, ~Pankhudi, comprising of people with diverse backgrounds ranging from professionals to social activists, endeavours to create a platform for such children to enable them to be at par with the others in all arenas of life making their lives that of an eternal winner and to make the society more aware every passing day. Hence it is our long-term commitment for emancipating the children of our country, whenever, wherever and however possible.

Our appeal to you at this hour is, please come forward and gift these children a childhood filled with smiles and make them self-reliant and purposeful in the society.

Our Philosophy

Bringing a change in the mindset is the first step in bringing a change in the condition. This is the principle in which our philosophy is built upon.

We at ~Pankhudi Parivaar realize that the need of the hour is awareness first and ensuing actions. To sensitize people to the difficulties faced by underprivileged children would not only help them understand the problems, but will also lead to a chain reaction of receptive attitudes that endeavor to alleviate these problems.

In a democratic country like ours, the power of popular choice is an entity few things can match. Starting from community level to the national scale, people have the right to decide what they want and people like you and me feel the benefits of education, health awareness, and family support among other basic things.

Our philosophy is simple from the viewpoint that it merely allows you to understand our objectives better. Since our goal is to enable a better life for these children, you may appreciate that a few moments of your time might well save a child from being pushed into the streets selling articles or worse still, into the dark world of trafficking. We believe in group effort & work in Teams. We understand it very well that small contributions from each has the potential to change the entire world into a better place for all.

So, you do have the power within your hands to say ‘no’ to the unfair life that is being imposed on some children by circumstances and help them get back the childhood they really deserve.

After all, as someone said, A child is the father of man”.

History

~Pankhudi Parivaar was formed with a collective goal in mind. The birth of ~Pankhudi was due to connection of minds with similar visions, ideas, action plans and love. Milestones have been set in our progress so far and many more will follow. And we hope that each day is an important page in the history of our family.

Shahzad Wakeel, Founder of ~Pankhudi and an alumni of IIT Bombay, is a young professional himself and feels that everyone should take out some of their time and try to help needy children in getting proper education and healthcare. It may not be easy work at the start but we should be persistent in our efforts and be optimist about fruitful results. He asserts that any such works can be done both- individually or with a set of like-minded people: following later brings more ideas and results.
